Cripple Creek celebrated its 79th Annual Donkey Derby Days June 26-27. Despite a couple of thunderstorms that moved through both days, record numbers of crowds flooded to Cripple Creek to watch the mile long parade, Donkey races, Mountain Mama Competitions, a fabulous Dog Show, and enjoy more than 60 vendors.
The Poverty Gulch Bunch members (clockwise from lower left) Missie Trenary, Will Batok, Jan Collins, Corey Collins, Trudy Evans, Dean Petschow and Jeff Trenary pause for a photo op before joining the Donkey Derby Days Parade. The Poverty Gulch Bunch representing the Cripple Creek District Museum took second place in the Float Category with the Stinky Sink Saloon and Carrie Nation.
