Central City hosts ‘Almost Cinco de Mayo,’ April 30 & May 1
Add a little samba to your step and get your green chile fix on – it’s almost Cinco de Mayo time, and for Central City’s Latin lovers (and everyone else too), that means it’s time for fiesta.
On Saturday, April 30, 1 – 6 p.m., Central City is hosting an adults only, free, colorful festival in the street, complete with live music on stage by Carlos Martinez, margaritas and cervezas, plus plenty of fiesta-fantastic Mexican fare. Partygoers will enjoy a taste of lively Hispanic culture and be serenaded by the city’s authentic strolling mariachi band – Mariachi De Mi Pais. Everyone must be 21 or older.
On Sunday, May 1, 1 – 4 p.m., everyone is welcome. It is La Familia Day, and the street party continues for all ages with the famous Manuel Molina Combo heating up the stage, hot tamales and burritos, Latin dancing lessons, and a Cinco de Mayo-approved jumpy castle.
Both parties will be located on Gregory Street between Main and Spring. Admission is free and all activities are weather permitting.
