by editorial on September 28, 2010

Make sure not to miss the Creepy Crawls for four Saturday nights in October on Oct. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 7 p.m. They will be c-r-e-e-p-i-e-r this year. Central City’s 150 years of history add up to one legendary ghost town. Explore Central City’s most infamous haunts with free lantern tours of the town’s ghostly hot spots. The second annual walking tour includes new, creepier stories and new, eerie destinations with a host of supernatural sightings.

The 60-minute lantern lit tours are hosted by The Gilpin Historical Society. The first tour will leave at 7 p.m., and then every 5-7 minutes until 7:30 p.m. at Century Casino, 102 Main St. People should meet at Century Casino (parking at the casino is free) and tours will leave from the Gregory Street side entrance to the casino.
The tour is free for the first 200 guests per Saturday, but reservations are required. Go to www.centralcityparkway.com/creepycrawl/ or call 303-327-2255 and leave information on voicemail.

Don’t Forget: Significant walking is involved, including steep hills and stairways, so sturdy shoes and a healthy spirit are a must.
