Windsor Gardens ‘loves’ the Colorado Gambler

By Suzanne Paulman

Windsor Gardens, located at 595 S. Clinton in Denver, will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year as a vibrant and active adult community. The Colorado Gambler has been delivered to the community for more than 20 years and it is undeniably the favorite weekly gaming newspaper of the Windsor residents.

According to Renee, who has worked for several years in the Activities Department as an administrator, the active seniors who make up this community are “very charitable and generous people.” Through their various fundraiser activities, the Windsor folks recently raised a generous donation of $2,500 for the Denver Children’s Home.

Windsor residents enjoy traveling on their own bus several times a month to Black Hawk and Central City for a day of gambling. These dedicated gamblers always take along their own copies of the Colorado Gambler. The newspaper features entertaining reading and functions as a handy take-along guide to the best casino bargains in town.

Sometimes their bus trip includes a special celebration of good fortune: a very lucky Windsor resident recently won more than $30,000 during his visit to the beautiful mountain casinos.

Ria, a Windsor resident and volunteer, commented that she reads the Gambler “from cover to cover” with its appealing articles, discount coupons, horoscopes and engaging New York Times Magazine crossword puzzle. Windsor residents look forward to reading the Gambler each week and would not leave home without it.

Windsor Gardens residents love to read the Colorado Gambler and love to take trips up to Black Hawk.
