Once again wonderful excitement will shimmer brightly in the air at Fortune Valley Hotel & Casino in Central City this weekend during their cash and car giveaway drawings. Fortune Valley is located at 321 Lawrence Street in historic Central City and provides plenty of free covered parking for its guests.
The “Big Green Giveaway” of $500 Progressive Cash Giveaways continues every half-hour on Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from 2 p.m. to midnight, and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with the Super Finales at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, January 22, it will be standing-room-only as Fortune Valley will be giving out over $34,000 in cash and car drawings. In the “Great Escape Giveaway” a brand-new, gorgeous, red 2010 Ford Escape SUV will be given away at 10:15 p.m.
Join the Fortune Valley players club to receive an Ultimate Card and start playing to earn your entries for the cash and car drawings. Players are eligible to receive one free entry per day and ten bonus entries for every 250 points earned on their players card.
Fortune Valley has always quickened the heartbeats of all car lovers with its fabulous car giveaways. During the summer of 2010 “Mustang Mania” excitement filled the air as the casino gave away a new Ford Mustang in drawings held once a week. At this year’s celebration on New Year’s Eve, one very fortunate guest won the brand-new 2010 Ford Escape in a drawing at 12:15 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
Fortune Valley’s lucky guest was Dr. Joan W., who was spending New Year’s Eve weekend with her family at the hotel. Dr. Joan and her family call Colorado home and live in the Denver metro area. The family established a tradition many years ago of celebrating holidays together at the casino and hotel once known as Harvey’s Wagon Wheel and now known as Fortune Valley.
Dr. Joan recalled the night she won and how it was a dreamlike experience for her. Her favorite game is video poker and she had earned 42 entries on her players club card for the car drawing. When she heard her name called out loud over the PA system, she said “That’s my name!” and yelled for her dad to come with her. There were so many people at the casino’s celebration that she couldn’t get up the stairs right away to claim her car.
Once she notified the casino that she was present—and hadn’t left the casino as the announcer lightly joked—she remembers being “pretty excited” about her win. Fortune Valley hosts complimented her on her extraordinary good fortune as there were more than 10,000 entries in the drawing for the coveted SUV. Dr. Joan commented that the other Fortune Valley guests were “so generous and kind to me,” saying they were happy for her, and taking pictures of her with them.
Dr. Joan recently moved to Texas near Fort Hood to accept a federal job in her field of specialty dedicated to the rehabilitation of veterans. Her living out-of-state had a big impact on her reluctant decision to not accept the Escape as her prize. After consulting with other family members, she decided to take the cash prize offered instead of the car. Dr. Joan has generously shared her cash prize with organizations she belongs to back home.
Dr. Joan said she and her family will be back at Fortune Valley very soon to celebrate her mother’s birthday, then Mother’s Day, and then Father’s Day. The celebrations are “something we do together as a family” regardless of where she lives.
She always enjoys returning to her “Central City and Black Hawk family” when she comes to Colorado. Dr. Joan especially appreciates the personal touch in Fortune Valley’s customer service. “It’s great. They treat you like you’re special. People know you.” She readily compliments friendly staff members Bryn, Dottie, Gracie, Jeff, Mary, Michelle, Mike, Scott, and Vaughn on their extraordinary customer service.
