As the winter season approaches, the Cripple Creek District Museum will be shortening hours. Through the end of the year, the Museum Gift Shop will remain open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come on in to see our inventory of unique gifts and the largest book selection in Teller County. The Museum grounds will be open for tours Saturdays and Sundays only, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Upcoming events include Ghost Walk Tours Oct. 23, 30 and 31. Meet at the Outlaws & Lawmen Jail Museum at 6 p.m. for a complimentary walking tour downtown. Participants can hear spooky stories of Cripple Creek’s ghostly residents. The tour ends at the Cripple Creek District Museum Gift Shop for hot chocolate, cider and cookies. Warm jackets and comfortable shoes are suggested.

Then on Saturday and Sunday, October 30 & 31, come to the Museum Depot for Night at the Museum IV, a visit with our scary characters of that past. Tour the Depot by night to see our ghoulish residents who haunt the Museum at night. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for guests age 20 and under. Children under age 16 must be accompanied by parent, and special discount tickets are available at Cresson Elementary, Cripple Creek High School and Cripple Creek Park & Rec.

All tours are family friendly and no reservations are required. For more information, call 719-689-9540 or email CCDMuseum@aol.com.
