To be included in the «Annual Best» voting, you must email me at theeiks@aol.com by Feb. 15. See the last issue for full details. I am also adding a category for “Tournament of the Year” with the following as my entry.
I entered a live $10 entry sit and go (winner take all). The first hour, I was dealt a pocket pair five times. Four times kings and once aces. I won each of these hands and we were down to four players. Then a call of nature sent me off running to the rest room from which I returned just in time to see my pocket kings get folded with two players in the pot.
One had a pair of aces and another had big slick. Needless to say, I felt very lucky to just miss a hand that I would have gone busted in. But the card Gods showed that they usually even out hands and players over the long run. It finally got down to heads up play between the player who had the aces when I had the kings (but missed the hand) and me. I was dealt pocket aces and went all in.
My opponent almost beat me in the pot rolling over kings. I turned over my aces. The flop was a king, a nine and a three. I was half way out the door and hardly saw the turn (a deuce) and the river (a ten).
