In Jefferson and Gilpin counties, the Court Appointed Special Advocates program is steadily growing but there is still a strong need for dedicated community members to become a voice for a child in court. CASA needs your help and support to continue to work toward making sure that every child in the community is in a safe and permanent home. Be the difference, AND become a CASA volunteer.
CASA volunteers are caring adults who get to know children in the Dependency and Neglect system and provide the courts with objective information and recommendations to help ensure the child’s best interests are served. Previous experience is not necessary, just compassion for children and the desire make a difference in our community.
For more information about the next training class in September, call 303-271-6535 or visit the website at www.casajeffcogilpin.com. CASA 101 Informational sessions are held at the Jefferson County Courthouse on the second Thursday of each month from 6 – 7 p.m. Trainings for new volunteers is scheduled for Sep. 21-Oct. 7. Deadline to submit an application is Friday, Sept. 17.
