To anyone in Cripple Creek who has ever been a cook, dishwasher, porter or housekeeper, the name Audrea Brickell is a familiar one.

Audrea Brickell

Aud came to town about 13 years ago and took a position as payroll manager at the Double Eagle. Crunching numbers and figuring with holdings just wasn’t what she really wanted to do, so when the food and beverage manager position at Shining Mountain Golf Club in Woodland Park opened up, she jumped on it.

Two years later, Audrea came back to work in Cripple Creek at Womack’s. She was first the food and beverage manager and later bumped up to services manager, which took in the added responsibility of porters and housekeeping. In 2007 she moved over to Wildhorse Casino and was there until they closed a year later. That’s when she landed at the Wildwood.

Last fall when the Wildwood consolidated several departments, Aud was promoted to assistant house services manager. This position covers food, beverage, porters, maintenance and transportation. Admittedly the new position is demanding.

“This position is a challenge, but I like my new career path,” she said. “We’ve got a great group of employees here at the Wildwood.”

Aud is married to long time Cripple Creeker, Paul Helit, and the two have a 5-year-old son. She loves living up in Cripple Creek.

“It’s like working in a big city, but when you’re off work you are still living in a small community. I love raising my son in a small town,” Aud said.

Aud also loves working at the Wildwood Casino and sees it as a long term relationship.
