Bronco Billy’s has a reputation for long-term employees, and 12-year veteran Marketing Director Michelle Fouts is no exception.
Cripple Creek has always held a special place in this Colorado native’s heart since she was a child. Born in Salida and raised in Pueblo, Fouts would visit the town with her family quite often when she was growing up. When she was in high school, they moved to Kansas, but Fouts always wanted to come back to Cripple Creek.
On their first anniversary, Fouts and her husband traveled to Colorado and wound up purchasing property just outside of town. They planned to move back here when his two boys were grown. Fouts had a subscription to one of the local papers, and when the assistant marketing director position at Bronco Billy’s was advertised, she applied. The rest is history.
She really enjoys her position as marketing director, especially the creativity involved.
“I get to take something from being just an idea and develop it into a full blown promotion,” she said.
Fouts is very involved with the community, participating in special events and community theater. In 2004, she was awarded the “Goochy” for favorite local actress in the Butte Opera House’s annual Christmas production. Donkey Derby Days is her favorite special event. Her office is filled with trophies and ribbons from winning various contests. She has been crowned 1st Place Mucker and along with co-worker Michelle Lopez, has won the Mountain Mama several years running. In 2008, the pair ran the mile-long Donkey Derby Race in flip-flops to take home the 3rd Place trophy.
Fouts loves working for a company that shares her community spirit.
“Bronco Billy’s is known for their generosity and involvement in the community,” she said. “We support the Butte Opera House, the District Museum, the high school, the Two Mile High Club and numerous other community groups.”
Her passion for her job and community is evident by the always-present smile on her face.
Assistant marketing director and close friend, Michelle Lopez, said, “Michelle is a wonderful person and a great boss.”
