Real Deal — Big Cash Game, Part II

by editorial on May 24, 2011

Tom Dwan was steaming and stuck after losing $200K in the previous hand. He called before the flop with 2/3 offsuit and Kaplan raised with 6/5 ffsuit.. The flop was 7/3/A which gave Kaplan a gut shot and Dwan a small pair. Both players checked an Ace on the turn. On the river a deuce fell. Dwan checked and Kaplan bluffed $50k into a pot of $100K. Dwan thought for a long time and then folded showing his little pair. Kaplan, with a big smile on his face showed his bluff as he raked in the pot. After the hand, Kaplan said that he did not think Dwan had an ace in his hand the way a normally aggressive Dwan played it. Dwan said that he did not want to lose 2 big pots in a row and he thought Kaplan might be slow playing a big ace/face or a set.
