Dewayne Lipsey, Manager of Smokin’ Aces, along with Johnson is excited to open Feb. 18.

Looking for something different to do in the Colorado gambling capital at night?  Smokin’ Aces Night Club opens on Friday, Feb. 18, in Crooks Palace Restaurant. With a DJ and a hookah lounge, the club will add welcome diversity to Black Hawk’s entertainment options and bring new visitors to the area.

The DJ scored high on the fun factor and the combination of dancing, smoking hookah pipes and ordering drinks from one of the oldest bars in the state can’t be duplicated anywhere else. The club will open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 9 p.m., with the DJ starting at 10 p.m. until closing at 2 a.m. Cover charge is only $10.

Managers Angela Johnson and Dewayne Lipsey have an “entrepreneurial mentality” they say, and they know the demand for a club in Black Hawk. Both have marketing and promotional backgrounds and are prepared to meet the demand. The news has already spread that when the chips are down, the place to party is Smokin Aces.

Crooks Palace transforms to Smokin’ Aces Night Club every Thursday – Saturday from 9 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Check out Facebook/Smokin-Aces-Night-Club and follow them on Twitter/SmokinAcesClub to stay up to date with the latest news and events going on at the club. Angela and Dewayne hope to also advertise through the shuttle companies who connect the metro area with the gambling towns and through the hotels in Black Hawk and Central City.

To say Angela and Dewayne are really excited is an understatement. They know hookah lounges are the big thing now in Denver and have often been asked why there wasn’t one in the mountains. When they discovered Crooks Palace Restaurant at 200 Gregory St. in Black Hawk, they knew it was the perfect fit.

Matt and Mike Casarez, owners of Crooks Palace Restaurant, are excited also because they say that a younger crowd has started coming to Black Hawk recently and some new activity will be welcomed.

Matt Casarez said, “We’re trained to run a restaurant, not a club, and we’re glad they’re opening it. A club is definitely exciting, something new.”
