The Gilpin Casino’s new auto-racing themed Winner’s Circle table games pit area started up its “Shake and Bake” promotion. This promo features an all-expense paid trip for two to the first-class NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Las Vegas on March 6. Play for points in the Winner’s Circle to enter the drawing for this outstanding luxury giveaway.
Ed Weisel, Colorado director of table games for both The Gilpin and Lodge Casinos, said the Winner’s Circle recent soft opening was “a resounding success.” Weisel commented that a lot of research went into creating a fun theme for The Gilpin’s table games pit area before its new opening.
The theme of auto-racing came up a winner, as it’s a fun year-round sport with enthusiastic and loyal fans. As part of the cool theme, table games supervisors sport arrest-me red “Crew Chief” shirts and staff wear bold yellow “Pit Crew” shirts. All are emblazoned with eye-catching sponsors’ logos.
Sponsors of the Winner’s Circle are Club Auto, Colorado National Speedway, High Plains Raceway, MillerCoors, NAPA, Race Fever Racing Souvenir, The Track at Centennial, and Waterworks Car Wash. All the companies liked the auto-racing theme and were very excited about forming partnerships with The Gilpin in sponsoring the Winner’s Circle.
According to Weisel, High Plains Raceway and Colorado National Speedway supplied the Winner’s Circle authentic racing track paraphernalia, including the track director’s own racing suit and several huge gleaming trophies. The Track at Centennial provided a real go-cart. Weisel said that in decorating the table games pit area, none of the casino building’s historical features were harmed in any way.
“We’re mindful of history,” Weisel said.
With the major success of the opening, Weisel now has other companies lining up to be sponsors.
During January weekends, sponsors of the Winner’s Circle will be offering a variety of not-to-be-missed racing themed events. The MillerCoors promotional model presented hoodies and jackets to players during the first weekend. NASCAR’s Chris Eggleston will be at the Winner’s Circle on Jan. 15 and he’ll be bringing up one of his racing cars for display in The Gilpin’s parking lot. High Plains Raceway will present racing cars and drivers on Jan. 22. Club Auto Colorado members will be doing a driving tour from Lakewood to The Gilpin and displaying their collector cars in the casino’s lot on Jan. 29.
Weisel said the big day for the NASCAR drawing will be Feb. 20 and qualified players will be notified. The Winner’s Circle offers daily prizes and Weisel plans on continuing big promos similar to “Shake and Bake” for the table games area throughout the year. He said that the next one will probably be in April.
